Sponsor VOKRA's Mother Cats

Cats can (and will) become pregnant when just five months old—literally, kittens having kittens. VOKRA takes in dozens and dozens of pregnant cats each year, many of them under a year old. Often, they have been living homeless, trying to find enough food to feed themselves, evade predators, and locate a safe, dry place to have their kittens. Some of these mother cats were themselves born feral—homeless, undomesticated, and therefore fearful of humans.
VOKRA takes in pregnant and nursing mother cats, domestic or feral, and gives them safe home environments in which to have their kittens and raise them to weaning age. We then find good homes for the kittens, spay the mother, and adopt her out if she is amenable to domestication. If she remains feral, we ensure she is released into a safe feral colony where volunteers provide food and water daily, and monitor the colony members’ health.
Sponsoring VOKRA Mother Cats will help us pay for veterinary visits, de-worming and de-fleaing treatments, vaccinations, high-quality canned food, litter, and other necessary supplies and equipment to ensure these mothers and their kittens have top-notch care.
